Céline Bouissou, occupational therapist and musician, supports artists in preventing pain related to instrumental practice. She offers advice, postures, and exercises to play safely and rediscover the joy of music.
As a musician herself, Céline understands the demands and constraints of the profession. Graduated in occupational therapy from the University of Limoges, she specialized in artists’ health by opening the first occupational therapy practice for musicians in France. She began a research thesis at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris on musculoskeletal disorders specific to instrumental practice among music students.
Her approach is personalized. She takes the time to listen to each musician, observe their practice, and analyze their movements. She adapts her advice according to the instrument, posture, and the specific needs of each individual.
Convinced that protecting one’s body extends the joy of playing, she shares this philosophy in her book Play Music Without Hurting Yourself (2025), a true practical guide for musicians.
For Céline Bouissou, the priority is human: helping each artist regain confidence, comfort, and joy in their practice, and reminding them that sustainable music is based above all on a healthy body.
